Eggsperience Pancakes and Cafe Menu

Boring. For starters it took about 10 minutes for our server to show up after we had been seated. Granted, they were busy, but she could have at least swung by real quickly and said that she would be right with us. If she had done that I would not have minded waiting. Yeah, I knew they were busy but even when busy a courtesy like that should not be forgotten. And when she came to take our order, she barely even looked at us. At one point she even waved hello to someone who was probably a regular, while we were giving her our order. The food was mediocre. At best. I ordered the chorizo omelette and it looked good when it showed up (the slice of orange on the side was a nice touch), but then I bit into it. Bland. Bland and dull. Bland, dull, and boring. The poor thing was devoid of an meaningful flavor. Sure, it tasted like an omelette, but just a generic, run of the mill omelette. The only reason I knew there was chorizo in there was because it said so on the menu. The hashbrowns were decent, nothing to write home about ("Dear Mum, had average hashbrowns today." Response: "Dear Son, I do not care about average hashbrowns.") I had ordered a side of bacon, and it was forgotten. I mentioned this at the time the food was brought out and the bacon arrived when I was about 3/4th of the way finished with my omelette. They bacon was dry and brittle and broke apart like dust in my mouth. If I had wanted dust in my mouth I would have gone on an archaeological dig looking for the Well of Lost Souls. For my friend's dish you can pretty much repeat the above paragraph and just change up the bland, dull, and boring adjectives a bit. Her dish was pretty much unmemorable. I will comment that my friend did get a slice of the off the bone ham, and it was quite tasty. Also, why no biscuits and gravy? Actually, scratch that question. It probably would have been just as bland, dull, and boring. So, if you want to good money for a nice slice of orange, then this is the place to go. But, you would be better off going and getting an orange over at the grocery store across the parking lot and using the left over money to buy the fixings and make breakfast yourself.

This place is simply amazing. They have one of the healthiest menus and the staff was some of the most courteous people. I ordered the "protein omelet" and it was awesome. Made from all egg whites it had broccoli and chicken breasts. I travel a lot and it's about time that a restaurant caters to those of us that care about healthy lifestyle choices. I will now be a repeat customer!!!!

Terrible. I have been there four times and have had a bad experience each time. Today, my fiancee and I went for breakfast. The eggs were ice cold, the pancakes were like rubber, the muffin in the Eggs Benedict was cold and rubbery. To boot, my fiancee came home and vomited. Will not be going back, ever. Needless to say, what are these people thinking?

  • Erin B.

Awful. Food is on the low end, the eggs were slimy and rubbery at the same time and the pancakes tough. the waitresses seem incapable and were so dumb. I I came in with my toddler son (still in a highchair) and ordered the children's milk. She brought it in a glass. Then 10 minutes later saw me carefully feeding it to him and asked, "Wait? Do you want a kids cup?" Oh my. There were various other things that they didn't know like "I'm not sure if we have wheat toast".... No comment. More than one piece of the silverware and plates we had was dirty. You're better off going to your local diner for a solid breakfast. Will not ever return here.

Awesome service! The ham on the bone is perfect. Coffee is delightful. Nice menu, something for everyone. Atmosphere cheerful and spotless. If I could I would eat here every day.

What an awesome breakfast experience! I've been waiting for the listing to go up so I can write my review! My sisters and I had brunch here after a super-secret photo shoot at the Arlington Heights library (gifts for the parents and grandparents.) One of my sisters works at Blackfinn next door and said we should try Eggsperience. We were seated immediately and given a carafe of coffee and a pitcher of water for the table (double score, we go through a lot of both at breakfasty/brunchy time.) Two of us ordered the corned beef hash skillet, with hash browns instead of home fries. We both asked for well done potatoes and cbh. I went for over easy eggs, she went poached. My other sister ordered the cbh benedict. Food was delivered quickly, piping hot, and perfectly cooked to our requests. Now that I know that Eggsperience can poach an egg (set white, very runny yolk) I will be ordering poached eggs from now on (it's a game people, not everyone can do it, and a not-runny yolk on top of a skillet just doesn't work. I definitely over-indulged on my skillet, taking down the whole thing, as did both of my sisters did with their meals. The server was friendly and attentive, and didn't scoff at us when we asked for extras, like more cream, hollendaise, and hot sauce. The price was right for 3 hungry girls for brunch - around $30 give or take tax and tip. I will certainly be back!

Huge omelette, piles of potatoes, nice prices, good service. Not that tasty, though. Bland and uninspired. Flavorless pancakes and spuds. There was no parking anywhere near it even though it was not a busy time. I had to walk two blocks through the snow. The same drunk with a protractor who designed the Chicago freeway system drew up Randhurst. Bad planning.

Well when 1 st walked in was impressed by everything. Then sat down ordered food all was good then food came and was all wrong both orders I was thinking ok mistakes happen so they took back and came back with new plates but some of food was from previous time they came. For me that is a mistake my food should be fresh. Thanks but will not return and I never finished my portion

Loved this place...amazing food and service... Some of the best quality food I have had in a while and both the waitress and trainie were very friendly and always made sure to check back with us!!! Wish we had one of these in Cali!!!

Walked into the restaurant. Guy took my name (said nothing & turned away). 2 other individual couples came in behind us. Guy sat them down (again said nothing to us) Needless to say, we walked out. Puck this place.

Good place for meeting friends for breakfast! Food was good and the wait staff friendly. They didn't rush us, though we went when it was not busy.

After reading the various reviews, I had second thoughts on coming here for breakfast, but I figured surely this place would be better than the free breakfast at The Hampton Inn. When I arrived on this weekday morning, there was only one other table seated, so the place was by no means busy. I was promptly greeted and given a table and my waitress came over within a minute of me sitting down and offered me coffee. I liked the fact that they give you a pot of coffee so you can refill whenever you want. They also give you a pitcher of water as well. Lots of choices on the menu, but I went with the strawberry Greek yogurt crepes and I added a side of crispy bacon. Food came out pretty quick and overall, it wasn't too bad. The crepes were filling and I was only able to get 2 of the 3 crepes down. I've had better crepes, but these were by no means bad. Overall, I would say this place is certainly a step up from IHOP or your typical diner. I didn't really have any complaints with service other than I had asked for another spoon after the waitress assumed I was done with mine, and I think she forgot but did eventually bring it about 10 minutes later. The place is a little pricey as my meal came to just under $20 before tip. My experience was good enough that the next time I'm staying at the Hampton Inn, I would certainly come back here for breakfast.

Very pleasant server Mary....and it was downhill all the way from there, sad to say! I ordered a scrambler prepared easy or soft with an order of pancakes. My meal was served overcooked, downright hard eggs not as I had requested. I didn't request the meal to be re-made as by the time it would arrive, my friend would have been done with hers. The pancakes which are so fluffy that you only need a fork were TOUGH! I had to use a butter knife to cut into them and they were awful.....syrup couldn't even rescue this meal!!! Mary went to the manager to describe my disappointment along with my meal that I picked at. He had her remove the charge from my bill.....not what I was expecting. I certainly expected this professional/manager to come to our table to apologize for our horrible experience and extend an olive branch. HE DID NOTHING of the kind. As we paid the cashier and she asked "how was everything?", I was more than disgusted. Manager was nearby to greet new customers with his menus, casually glanced at me and wished me a good day. I would have given no stars if that was possible....that said, I will never visit this establishment and all my friends & family will hear about it. There are plenty of breakfast places around and with the actions of today, Randhurst Village will probably have another vacant storefront/restaurant in the not too distant future!!!

Way overpriced. Food portions do not justify why charges are so high. Wait staff always very friendly and prompt.

Would you like your eggs served with a side of grump? Then come here. I had an early meeting that got rescheduled, and I was up anyway, so I figured I'd go out to breakfast. I frequent Blackfinn so I drive by Eggsperience on the reg, and figured I'd try it out. I arrived shortly after 7 and had the pick of where to sit. I chose a roomy booth near the window and was served coffee immediately. I ordered the breakfast panini, since I was jonesing for a breakfast sandwich, a side of turkey sausage, and a mango-orange juice. The food was great, the sandwich being a particular standout... It was more "lightly grilled sandwich" than "panini" but I preferred it that way. They don't skimp on the cheese or the bacon and it wasn't too crispy, just chewy enough, exactly the way I like it. The juice was SO good and refreshing too. I wish I had had the chance to order a second glass... Maybe I caught my server before she had her coffee? But they open at 6 and the place was empty when I walked in... She could've downed a cup of joe to perk up before the day. It was like being served by a robot. No "hi! How are ya?" or other pleasantries. Input order. Bring out. Check once. Drop check without asking if I wanted to order anything else (The juice was delicious and I so would've order another $4.69 glass of juice, had I had the chance). Bring out box. It felt very cold. Maybe I'm spoiled and used to the cheery servers at every other breakfast spots I've been to. The bussers were friendly, I just wish it had rubbed off on my server. I don't know if I'll be back. I don't really like eating at places where I feel like the staff wishes I wasn't there.

Really good management. Always alert, always on top keeping eye of everything, good food, airy, sunny, happy place. Unbelievably good corned beef hash, real meet, great test, all of the waitress (with one bad apple) is great, polite, smiling, fast. Place so clean, well raking care of. Do not miss on this place because of one bad apple, or one off day.

Went here with my wife and in-laws for Mother's Day breakfast. The service seemed ok at first, but then the waitress couldn't figure out what dishes were what and gave the wrong orders to the people at the table. Had to wait even longer for our toast and hash browns to arrive, and then, even those were mixed up. The restaurant wasn't even at full capacity yet and the waitress was all discombobulated. Lo and behold, after this lukewarm start to our meal, my brother-in-law discovered a long black hair in his omelet. We complained to the manager who was apologetic, said it was a mistake, that all their chefs were wearing hairnets, and said he would comp our meal. But of course, we were all grossed out and no one had more than three bites of their meal anyway. Happy Mother's Day. As we were leaving, my brother-in-law and I went to look in at the kitchen and saw chefs and prep cooks, some with hairnets, some definitely without. Isn't that a health code violation? As we were leaving, my brother-in-law mentioned that there were cooks without hairnets to the manager, and he was told to "shush"and "F*** off". Classless and gross. Do NOT eat here.

To be honest, I wish I could have given 4 stars, but Eggsperience is missing a crucial menu item. What self respecting breakfast establishment doesn't have biscuits and gravy? Honestly! I settled for the corned beef hash benedict. A little background on Maxine: I hate corned beef. I don't hate corned beef hash. I think its a texture thing. Anyway, I ordered the CBH and the hash browns extra crispy (because that's the way they should be), and they came out perfect. My only complaint is that the corned beef hash was all corned beef and no hash. Like diced corned beef. I pushed most of it to the side. My poached eggs were a little more done than I would like, but that's easily fixed with an extra side of hollandaise sauce, which our server was more than happy to accommodate me with, and offer more in case the extra wasn't enough. Service: A+ Ambiance: A Food: B Selection: C

I will be back. Love, love, love. I had a mushroom spinach skillet. It was wonderful. The spinach not so cooked down that you cant even call it nutricious like some places. Very fluffy pancakes. See pics I posted The "red eye" coffee so worth it. Prices reasonable for what we got. If you know Le Peep, this place is cheaper, roomier and better food. They will soon have a frequent buyer card. I really appreciate (unlike LePeep) that the tables aren't on top of each other and the space is large, airy and high ceilings. I wish I was there for breakfast right now!! Pitcher of ice water with fresh lemon on tables.

My favorite place for omelets! They are always huge and fluffy! The egg white omelet is basically two meals in itself.

The first time we had breakfast here, Jason broke his chair like the scene from Shallow Hal. While the food and service were just fine, we had been too embarassed to return. About a year has past since the unfortunate accident. Hell, Jason and I forgot about it. Leave it to my Mom to remind us. She and her friend Roy arrived first for our Easter Sunday breakfast date at 9am. For breakfast, lunch or brunch, this place is great! I ordered their traditional French toast with maple syrup. If I continue to eat French toast as often as I've been writing about them (and nevermind that I'm never "checking in") I'm going to need to have my sugar and cholesterol levels checked again. We will be back to honor my mom on Mother's day.

Me and my mom went to this place for the first time to try it out, I ordered the corn beef hash and it was great but not amazing and my mom got the French toast and when I tried that.... HOLY CRAP~ it was the best French toast I ever had, there wasn't any other place like it, it was perfectly battered where it didn't over power any flavor and it was so fluffy and soft and the taste was to die for it had such a light and perfect sweetness to it, service was great and fast the waiter we had was very nice and polite, the atmosphere was amazing~ felt very comfortable and everything els was great so I give it a five star because I never had a French toast like that in my life so I recommend it to everyone and recommend there egg items since that's there specialty~

Here we gooooo....Eggshityence 1. Cream for coffee was curdled. 2. Meat lover omelet had peace of bone in the sausage 3. Panini chicken was dry as a old ladies vajayjay! they toasted the tomatoes too.YUK 4. Bacon Burger ordered medium received WELL DONE hockey puck. 5. Bacon Burger ordered with mushrooms received 4 rabbit turd sized mushrooms. 6. Omelet without onions received with onions. 7. Fries came out raw. yes raw not cooked/boiled/fried properly. If our server T*** would have maybe used a pad to write down what we wanted instead of trying to memorize our orders we probably still would have had the same results. Side note, One busboy walking to the kitchen holding the pitcher of water half full spilling water with every step he took all over the floor. Seconds later Other busboy drops whole tray on empty table. The word Amazing has been mentioned in a few reviews before mine. The only thing AMAZING is how they are still in business.

Parking is shared with the movie theater and other nearby restaurants but if you go in the morning, the times don't really overlap so it's usually fine. They have a nice coffee/espresso and juice bar up front near the cashier and there is some seating when there is a short wait. Restrooms are straight back along the juice bar. There is plenty of booth seating with tables in between so the space is used well. There are upper levels so you will have to step up and down when you go to and from your table. It's very clean looking with nice color and similar to the other locations such as the Glen. The menu is pretty straight forward and includes some lunch items on the back for sandwiches and salads. I chose the Tiny Tim's farm stand frittata which included spinach, mushrooms, bacon, and cheese. The hash browns were fluffy but my friend prefers well done and they did that right. I chose pancakes which were also fluffy and they had whipped butter and syrup along with some powdered sugar on top, which is now pretty standard. My friend chose the multi grain toast and it looked pretty good. They have Dickinson jams instead of some places having Smuckers so I appreciate the upgrade there. Overall, a good restaurant in a good location for a weekend brunch!

Good choice if you're at Randhurst Village. The food is good and reasonably priced. In particular, the organic coffee is full of body yet really smooth (Almost like Anodyne or Alterra coffee). Caramelized Apple & Pecan Crepes: The combination of apple slices, pecans, and caramels was perfect. Not too sweet and the crepes were fluffy with an excellent temperature. Pancakes: Fluffy, a little light on flavor but very enjoyable. Corned Beef Hash & Eggs: Crispy corn beef, fluffy eggs... great combination. The Country Bennie: Nice runny eggs with spinach and peppers. This has a light but full feeling to it. One of the best I've had in the area beside Red Apple's. Since all the dishes were done well, with good food temperature and served quickly, I am interested in coming back and trying more items.

I don't know where to start with this review... My sister and I decided to try this place out for a nice brunch a few days ago. We always hear about it and it's right in our neighborhood back home. I got the chocolate chip crepes (meh, decent) and my sister got some type of skillet. She liked the skillet even though I swear I've made better crepes myself. So, as we're halfway done with our meal chatting it up, this young girl gets out her booth and starts running towards our table, which grabs the attention of me and my sister (suspense starts here). This middle schooler who was looking pretty pale in the face, as she's sprinting like she's in a track meet, stops right in front of our table and pukes her brains out, just as I'm shoveling my mediocre crepes into my mouth. I then began to do the math... I don't like my food, this girl is puking up her food in front of her table, and there's not that many people in here.... = ???? The only reason this review didn't get 1 star was because my little sister insisted that her food was (wait for it) "PRETTY GOOD." Let's just say the EXperience at EGGsperience was not something to brag about.

Their huge menu makes it impossible for me to choose exactly what I want to eat. Too many good choices! I recommend coming before 9AM or after 12PM as the peak hours are insanely busy. Service and food and comfort level is at an all time low during those hours. Waffles and French toast are my favorite regardless of what you get on them. Really great quality food.

I've visited here three times. This most recent visit was solo on a Sunday morning. The host who seated me was efficient and brisk, but not friendly or smiley. I ordered from a nice young waiter who was a quiet fellow and again not effusively friendly. Later in my meal, we chatted a bit, and I got him to laugh a bit. Several reviewers have commented about the staff here. While no one I encountered was Midwest warm and effusive, no one was cold or rude either. It was a more New York experience. I ordered eggs and ham. The dish was supposed to come with hash browns and toast. Since I don't eat toast, I asked to substitute that with fruit. My poor waiter was anxious about this, and told me that only the hash browns can be subbed out for fruit. Really?? Most of my regular haunts will do this for you at no extra charge. Even the old Greek diner will give you 3 (no more, no less) slices of canned peaches instead of toast. Corporate should look into this. I'm not asking for $4 of fruit for free, I'm just looking to get all of the calories I'm paying for. The atmosphere here is very generic, inoffensive and typical in its decor. Nothing creative or innovative. I can tell that most patrons here have never used Yelp--by the time I left nearly every table was full. The menu has a lot of breakfast waffles, crepes, and pancakes. They also emphasize freshly squeezed juices and smoothies. Although one reviewer extolled the "healthy" option, I still see mostly carbs and sugar. In the end, there's a reason I haven't been coming here a lot, despite its proximity to my home. It's just nothing special. And now I'm pretty irritated that they wouldn't give me three cubes of under-ripe cantaloupe instead of toast. I probably won't be back.

We had a decent meal here. There are several fresh squeezed juice options, which is a nice way to start breakfast. I had the veg breakfast skill and it was good. Pretty standard, but that is what I was in the mood for. I really appreciated that they used fresh spinach and fresh mushrooms. In fact, I wouldn't have ordered it if they didn't. The server was kind, prompt and water was always full. Lots of seating too, so I don't imagine the wait would ever be too long.

Huge portions! I have seen it many times that the people I go to breakfast with cannot even finish their omelettes. The food is FAST and the service is great. The prices seem a little high at first but when you see how much food you're getting you'll be satisfied. Tip; if you don't eat a lot for breakfast, split something with someone to save $$.

I love breakfast food, especially if I don't need to wake up early for it. Saw this spot a few times while visiting the newly renovated Randhurst Mall and put it on a "to go list". A group of 5 as we entered around 1PM were seated immediately. Though the place was pretty full we got lucky as they pushed two tables together to accommodate us. Our server was very polite and speedy and helped us with our few questions. She always kept a smile on her face as well which is huge for me these days. If you look like you're happy, you will make people happy (works for me). The menu is pretty basic with a decent choice of coffee beverages which made the cut. Coffee and I are close close friends. Got the Tommy Boy skillet which was meat packed and delicious, it also came with a side of mega fluffy pancakes! White mocha frappe please! Not too bad, more milky than I prefer though. Overall good eggsperience (see what i did there) and would go back again.

Really bad bad taste!!! Everything that was fried had a bad taste. And i noticed ppl form tables near by sending their food back as well. I always was a fan of eggsperience, but i guess now im a fan of a specific location only: park ridge!

Be prepared to wait for a table, this place is INSANELY busy on weekend mornings and afternoons. The atmosphere is cute and clean, the staff was decent (nothing to write home about but not terrible either), the food was good. I would have appreciated "combo" options on the pancakes/waffles/french toast...buying eggs and meat ala carte was super expensive, and as much as I like a sweet breakfast, I can't just eat a pile of sugar bread to start the day...need some protein in there somewhere. I ended up with the Weight Watcher wrap, and it was very good, and very large. I also recommend the orange juice - it's definitely fresh squeezed, but my husband and I probably could've gotten away with one glass each - we ended up getting the carafe and it was hard to finish by the end of the meal. I'd go back, but I'm not necessarily running there. We might give it some time to calm down and try again.

We had brunch here for Mother's Day and of course the place was packed. I'm glad my brother made reservations in advance for the 6 of us otherwise we'd be waiting outside with the crowd--and I'm not one to wait in line for breakfast. So I had the corned beef hash breakfast skillet which came with two eggs over corned beef hash and a side of pancakes. It wasn't bad but for a breakfast place that touts pancakes, they weren't that amazing. Our waitress Emily was great and was friendly, attentive and as efficient as she could be given the crowded day. The rest of the dishes my family had was ok but nothing to fight crowds for. Would I come back here? Maybe...but there are much better places to get breakfast.

This place was your basic breakfast place with awesome portions. So bring your appetites. The ingredients that fresh. I had an omelette. Delicious. Can't wait to go back. The place was busy when I went on the weekend. But I like having a more lives experience. The owner goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy your meal!

Love my breakfast and thought for a lunch meeting I would give this place a try. Seating/Atmosphere: Very spacious. Very. I really liked this as it offers an open space, plenty of sunlight, open air, and even with all the people in there you can still talk to the person across from you and hear them just fine. The decor is nice and not too over-the-top. Service: Water and coffee refilled quickly. The waitress did a great job of checking on us enough without interrupting a conversation or pushing us out the door. Service 5 STARS! Food: So the great atmosphere and great service so why the 3 stairs and not 5? The food unfortunately I thought was too eh. I was looking for a signature dish and there was not one. The eggs were not a great eggsperience. I got the corned beef hash and scrambled eggs plate and the eggs tasted not fresh. Almost like the were eggbeaters and not freshly cracked eggs. My friend got the egg whites baked omelette and the egg whites tasted as they had been whipped too much and became more of a Meringue. As someone who values texture, the meringue omelette was not too enduring. Also got the berry waffle. Again, eh. Not bad but not great. Something I could make from home. I really really want to give this place a four but that last line sealed a 3/5 for me. The lack of a signature dish and the fact that the food tasted like something out of a box or can, I can not do better than a 3/5. Good place to get something to eat but bot great enough to plan a day around.
